ADOBE’s FrameMaker program is a powerful desktop publishing application which has migrated from the UNIX platform to the PC and Macintosh. Frame is the program of choice when producing long documents such books and manuals and provides useful tools when localising documentation.
This course aims to provide practical experience in using the program in order to manage and plan such documents.
Suitable for both Apple Macintosh and Microsoft Windows
This course is designed to ensure the professional production of documents making maximum benefit of the tools available in FrameMaker. Attendees will learn how to create character and paragraph tags in order to produce re-usable styles and layouts and to enable automatic numbering of sections, figures and tables.
Attendees will work with templates and create and edit master pages to improve the consistency and manageability of their documents. Learn to work with other graphic formats and import data from other applications. To work with templates and book publications in order to standardise work produced by different designers. To prepare a publication for final printing and to understand the issues involved in distributing a publication.
No previous knowledge of FrameMaker is assumed, but experience using Windows (or similar) and a WordProcessing package is assumed. Experience using other DTP packages (QuarkXpress, PageMaker etc.) would be useful but is not essential.
